Stay on Track with Social Media
When I was a little boy I would watch my Dad driving the car. Even though we were going straight, he was always moving the steering wheel, a little bit to the left, a little bit to the right, but never still. I wondered why, until it came my turn to drive.
I soon learnt that the only way to stay on the road was constant course corrections. Those small adjustments were the key to maintaining not only our place on the road, but also our safety.
So it is with our efforts in Social Media, and all forms of marketing and advertising for that matter. It’s not a set and forget thing. It’s important to stay in touch with your strategy. Become familiar with what is going on around you and be prepared to shift ever so slightly to make sure you remain on track.
It’s easy to stay on course when you’re still on the road – much harder to get your car out of a ditch AFTER you’ve replaced the blown tire AND gathered yourself following the shock of running off the road.
Driving the Social Media highway is full of excitement and opportunities. Enjoy the journey by keeping your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.
